MSU is committed to your safety. These resources can help with campus safety and reporting of concerns.

MSU Police Department

The MSU Police Department provides services dedicated to the preservation of order, protection of students, faculty, staff, and the general public, prevention of crime and physical security of facilities and resources dedicated to the educational process.

Alerts

  • Get the LiveSafe App (iOS or Android) to be notified about safety alerts, text with the MSU Police, access safety resources, use safe-walk and campus wayfinding features, and more.
  • Sign up for Eagle Alerts to be notified of safety, weather and other emergencies by text message and email.

Report an incident

In case of emergency, call 911. Calling 911 from a campus phone will put you through to MSUPD dispatch. Non-emergency calls may be made to 606-783-2035. Non-emergency calls include calls to report property damage accidents (fender-benders), theft of property where the suspect is gone, vandalism when the suspect is gone, panhandlers, intoxicated persons who are not being disorderly, and parking complaints. You may also report a crime anonymously through our Anonymous Tip Line.

Sexual Misconduct - Title IX

As a caring community, MSU places a premium on student and employee safety and healthy relationships. Our Title IX website includes resources and contact information. PG-6 sends a clear and unmistakable statement against sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, assault, exploitation, stalking, dating violence and domestic violence. MSU provides a means to report incidents, as well as training on how to report, recognize and respond to sexual misconduct.

Training for Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Reporting

MSU offers online training addressing the critical issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment, offered through Everfi Haven.

Disclosure of Security and Crime Statistics

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act is the landmark federal law, originally known as the Campus Security Act, that requires colleges and universities across the United State to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses.
