Career Services keeps a database of employer contacts to use as speakers, mentors, and possible internship/job employers.

Interactive workshops, often with employer guests, are offered throughout the regular Spring and Fall semesters. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are welcome. There is no charge for the workshops and registration is not necessary.

Morehead State University Career Services has a centralized career management system we call Eagle CareerNet. This system allows students to upload their resume and other job search documents to be viewed by potential employers. All internships, seasonal, part time, full time, and student employment positions will be posted on this system. Students do not pay a fee for this service, but they must agree to a student code of conduct when participating in on-campus recruiting and interacting with our employers.

The system also manages employer contact information and allows Career Services to send out email messages quickly to hundreds of employer contacts. Students will have access to employer contact information to address cover letters or do informational interviews.

Faculty should refer employers to post their internships and jobs on Eagle CareerNet. It is easy! Refer them to the MSU Career Services website at: www.moreheadstate.edu/career.

It is important that faculty and staff encourage students to take responsibility for their career development and utilize our resources. Students should be encouraged to do internships to build professional skills to complement their coursework and make them marketable to employers.

InterviewLink, our online mock interview software, can be a valuable tool for professors who would like to offer mock interviews as a classroom assignment. Working with Career Services, you will create your question set from a database of over 7,000 pre-recorded questions (or we can record your own!)

If you are a student employment supervisor, you are encouraged to post your institutional and federal student employment positions on Eagle CareerNet. Students can search for positions and apply directly to you. Refer students that are interested in a position to CareerNet.

The Career Center houses a library of books on topics such as jobs for specific majors, resumes, cover letters, interviewing, etiquette, job search etc. Most books may be checked out of the library. Salary information for recent college graduates is also available.
