What You’ll Learn in health promotion

Through a combination of lectures, laboratory assignments and practicum requirements, you’ll learn both wellness theory and practical skills to improve the health of individuals and the community using behavior change strategies.

What You Can Do with a health promotion Degree

Our program prepares you for a career in health and wellness education in agencies such as health departments, wellness programs, YMCAs, health care facilities, area health education centers and others.

Our program not only prepares you for a career; you’ll also be prepared to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist certification. In addition, you can choose a major in health promotions, which requires a minor, or an area of concentration, which does not require a minor.
