What You Can Do with a military science Minor

This minor is perfect for potential ROTC cadets seeking a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or the Army National Guard. It will also provide you with skills, accomplishments and character to help you stand out in a competitive job market.

What makes morehead state's program different

A military science minor at MSU is awarded to cadets who receive their commission as second lieutenant. 

Admission to the military science Minor program

Follow the standard undergraduate application process and choose a major to become a military science minor student at Morehead State.

The following criteria must be met by all students to minor in military science:

  1. Acceptance into the advanced course.
  2. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
  3. A GPA of 2.0 or better in the major field or area.
  4. A GPA of 3.0 or better in military science.

The above standards may be waived providing the cadet has a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or better and the approval of a board consisting of the professor of military science, the dean of the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and an MS IV cadet who has the rank of cadet major or above.
