What You'll Learn in the wellness promotion master's Program

Our Master of Arts in Wellness Promotion program prepares you to be an effective leader in health promotion and exercise prescription for any organization that wants to improve the health of its community. You'll gain the knowledge and practical skills to be a community health educator. 

What You Can Do with a wellness promotion master's Degree

Graduates of our program are prepared for a wide range of careers, including worksite wellness programs, university recreation/wellness centers, health departments, YMCAs and other community-based wellness facilities, hospitals, clinics, commercial fitness, community health agencies and wellness websites. 

What Makes Morehead State's Program Different

Our 1-year degree option allows you to fast-track your education to start your career faster. The 1-year program requires six hours of summer classes.  

Admission to the Wellness Promotion Master's program

You must be accepted for graduate study at MSU. Apply for Graduate School 

  1. General admission to graduate study, including a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75. 
  2. Completion of an appropriate undergraduate major is required for unconditional admission to the program and selected concentration (exercise science, exercise physiology, health promotion, health or physical education). Candidates with an undergraduate degree in another area may submit a transcript to the department for consideration. The appropriate faculty will make an admission status recommendation, and when appropriate, include a list of undergraduate prerequisites that must be successfully completed prior to unconditional admission. 
  3. A comprehensive examination of program content is required for completion.
