Student Pay for Print (PFP)

MSU's Student PFP services allow you to print, copy and scan on campus using your BeakerBUCKs. To add BeakerBUCKs to your account, visit EagleCard ONLINE or one of our many Add Value Stations located across campus.

Once you log into a Student PFP copier and select "Secure Print," the screen will display your name, BeakerBUCKs balance, and the cost of your print job(s) within your print queue. The settings default to single-sided, black and white prints, but you may change the settings via the touchscreen menu. You may check your BeakerBUCKs balance at any time by tapping your EagleCard on the card reader attached to a Student PFP copier, and selecting "Secure Print." The screen will display your name and BeakerBUCKs balance, even if you don't have print jobs in the queue.

This information is for the Student PFP locations and devices that accept BeakerBUCKs only and is not relevant to the departmental copiers which charge to department accounts. Departmental devices do not accept BeakerBUCKs and the Student PFP locations do not charge to departmental accounts. Employees may use the Student PFP locations for personal printing and copying but will be required to use the funds on their BeakerBUCKs account.

  1. Tap your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the device to log in. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read. This will load the main menu on the touchscreen. On this screen you can select Secure Print, Copy, Scan or Access Stored Files. The screen will also display your name, BeakerBUCKs account balance, and the cost of your print job(s) within your Secure Print queue.
  2. Choose from the options on the screen to continue. See "Navigating the touchscreen" and print instructions for more information.
  3. Once you are finished printing, remember to press LOG OUT or scan your EagleCard again to log out.

The touchscreen on each Student PFP copier allows you to release your print job(s), delete items from the Secure Print Queue, and choose finishing options such as black and white, color, single-sided and more.

  • OPTIONS - allows you to choose finishing styles for your print job such as duplex (2-sided), stapling, copy count, pages to print, paper tray, etc.
  • PRINT+DELETE - prints your document and removes it from the Secure Print Queue (recommended).
  • PRINT+KEEP - prints your document and keeps it in the Secure Print Queue for up to 24 hours.
  • DELETE - removes a document from the Secure Print Queue without printing.
  • REFRESH - checks for new documents added to the Secure Print Queue.
  • LOG OUT - logs you out of your account. You may also tap your EagleCard again to log out.

  1. The default printer (PayForPrint) on most campus student lab computers should add your print job to the Secure Print Queue. The transition to PayForPrint is still in progress, so implementation in some locations may take longer.
  2. Once you select PRINT from a campus student lab computer, the main print window should display "PayForPrint" within the printer field. All print jobs default to B/W. To change to color, you may go into printer properties at this point and select Color. You can also change color options at the Student PFP copier. Select "Print" and a window will load requiring your MSU ID number. Enter your MSU ID number in this format: m#######. Select Ok/Close at the next screen, which will display your BeakerBUCKs balance.
  3. Once your print job has entered the Secure Print Queue, you may print from any Student PFP copier on campus. You will not be able to release anyone else's print job.
  4. Tap your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the Student PFP copier you wish to use to log in. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  5. Once you are logged in, you will select the Secure Print icon from the main menu. The Secure Print Queue will display on the printer's screen. The queue will include all print jobs available, sorted by time sent. It will also display your name, your BeakerBUCKs account balance, and the estimated cost of each print job.
  6. You may preview a document (select the small paper sheet icon next to each job to display B/W or Color, Pages, Price, etc.) To change finishing settings including Color, highlight the job you wish to change and select "Options" at the bottom of the screen. Change the setting and press "Set Options."
  7. Once you are finished selecting options and are ready to print, select which file(s) you wish to print. Print+Delete (recommended) will print your file and remove it from the Queue, while Print+Keep will print your file and keep it in the Queue up to 24 hours. You may also change your print by choosing from the available finishing settings, including black and white, color, single-sided, and more.
  8. Once you are finished printing, remember to press LOG OUT or scan your EagleCard again to log out.

You may send files to the Secure Print Queue from your laptop or mobile device using your MSU email account.

  1. Log into your EagleMail account via MyMoreheadState.
  2. Create a new email message to payforprint@moreheadstate.edu.
  3. Attach the file(s) you wish to print and click SEND.
  4. Print jobs are created for each attachment and the email itself and added to the Secure Print Queue.
  5. You may now access your print job(s) from any Student PFP copier on campus (this does not include departmental/employee units).
  6. Tap your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the Student PFP copier you wish to use to log in. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  7. Once you are logged in, you will select the Secure Print icon from the main menu. The Secure Print Queue will display on the screen. The Queue will include all print jobs available, sorted by time sent. It will also display your name, your BeakerBUCKs account balance, and the estimated cost of each print job.
  8. You may preview a document (select the small paper sheet icon next to each job to display B/W or Color, Pages, Price, etc.) To change finishing settings including Color, highlight the job you wish to change and select "Options" at the bottom of the screen. Note that there is a limit of 25MB for email attachments. Your print job(s) will not be created if the email exceeds 25MB. Large files may take longer to show up in your PFP Queue.

  1. Log into a Student PFP copier by tapping your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the device. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  2. Insert your USB flashdrive into the port located on the right side of the device.
  3. From the main menu, select ACCESS STORED FILES.
  4. Select MEMORY MEDIA (A:) and select the file(s) you wish to print. You may use the arrow buttons to navigate through the list of files.
  5. Select the file you wish to print.
  6. Select "Display Image" at the bottom of the screen to preview the file.
  7. Select "Print" to print your file from the USB flashdrive. You may also change your print by choosing from the available options, including black and white, color, single-sided and more.
  8. Once you are finished printing, select the arrow button next to the Log Out button at the bottom of the screen. Select the green "Remove" button to safely eject your flashdrive. Remember to press LOG OUT or scan your EagleCard again to log out.

You must have enough funds in your BeakerBUCKs account to release any print job. Your BeakerBUCKs balance is displayed on the screen.

  1. Log into a Student PFP copier by tapping your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the device. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  2. Remove any staples or paper clips.
  3. Open the copier lid and place your document flat, face-down on the scanner surface or place multiple documents face-up in the feeder tray on top of the copier. If using the scanner, shut the copier lid.
  4. From the main menu, select COPY.
  5. Adjust the available settings, then press the START button (large green button on the printer).
  6. Once you are finished, remove your original document(s) from the copier and log out by pressing LOG OUT or by scanning your EagleCard again

You must have enough funds in your BeakerBUCKs account to release any print job. Your BeakerBUCKs balance is displayed on the screen.

  1. You may scan documents and email them to your MSU email address from any Student PFP copier. OneDrive access will be available soon.
  2. Log into the Student PFP copier by tapping your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the device. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  3. From the main menu, select "SCAN."
  4. Remove any staples or paper clips.
  5. Open the copier lid and place your document flat, face-down on the scanner surface or place multiple documents face-up in the feeder tray on top of the copier. If using the scanner, shut the copier lid.
  6. Select "SCAN TO MY EMAIL" on the copier touchscreen.
  7. Select from the available scan settings: color/black and white, DPI, Image (PDF).You may scan multiple pages at one time or individually.
  8. When you are ready to email the file(s), press the START button (large green button on the touchscreen or copier). A sample image will appear on the screen for you to review. To insert an additional page to your scan, use the green arrow button at the bottom of the screen. You can also delete pages within your scan by using the red arrow button at the bottom of the screen.
  9. When you are ready to send the file to your email, select "NEXT." The document(s) will be sent to your MSU email address.
  10. Once you are finished, remove your original document(s) from the copier, scan another document or log out by pressing LOG OUT or by scanning your EagleCard again.

You must have enough funds in your BeakerBUCKs account to scan and send. Your BeakerBUCKs balance is displayed on the screen.

  1. You may scan documents to your USB flashdrive from any Student PFP copier. OneDrive access will be available soon.
  2. Log into the Student PFP copier by tapping your EagleCard on the card reader attached to the device. You will hear a confirmation beep when your card has been successfully read.
  3. Insert your USB flashdrive into the port located on the right side of the device. Wait for the arrow button to appear at the bottom of the screen with the message "Memory Media is Connected."
  4. From the main menu, select ACCESS STORED FILES.
  5. Select MEMORY MEDIA (A:)
  6. Press EDIT FILES at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Select ADD FILES (SCAN AND STORE).
  8. Remove any staples or paper clips.
  9. Open the copier lid and place your document flat, face-down on the scanner surface or place multiple documents face-up in the feeder tray on top of the copier. If using the scanner, shut the copier lid.
  10. When you are ready to scan the document(s), press the START button (large green button on the copier). A PDF image of the document(s) will be sent to your USB flashdrive.
  11. Once you are finished scanning, select the arrow button next to the log out button at the bottom of the screen. Select the green REMOVE button to safely eject your flashdrive. Remember to press LOG OUT or scan your EagleCard again to log out.

You must have enough funds in your BeakerBUCKs account to scan and store. Your BeakerBUCKs balance is displayed on the screen.

Morehead State University implemented Student UniFLOW Pay for Print management and accounting software over the summer break to replace the Pharos system. The new Student UniFLOW PFP system provides additional services at Multi-Function Devices (MFD) such as mobile printing, print anywhere (student PFP devices only), copy, scan, and send feature. The new UniFLOW system also allows the University to further optimize and enhance its printing services to students. Students can print/copy at any Student PFP device using the new PFP Secure Print Queue. UniFLOW uses the control panel of the printer/copier to release jobs rather than the print release stations used with Pharos. You will use your EagleCard ID to release print jobs from the PFP Secure Print Queue and charge them to your BeakerBUCKs account.
