WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE ORDERING YOUR TRANSCRIPT

  • Requests may be submitted online, in person, or by mail. See more information on each ordering process below.
  • Requests by phone are not accepted.
  • We do not fax transcripts.
  • Normal processing time is as few as 20 minutes for electronic transcripts ordered online and 48 business hours for all mailed and hold for pick-up transcript requests. Processing time may be longer during peak times.
  • We cannot process transcript requests for students with financial holds. If you have a financial hold, it must be cleared prior to placing your transcript order. If you are ordering your transcript online, you will be notified of the financial hold and will not be able to complete your order until the hold is cleared.
  • If you wish to pick up your transcript in the office, you must have a photo ID.
  • Transcript fees per copy are:
    • $7 for mailed requests (ordered in person)
    • $15 for on-demand requests (ordered in person)
    • $7.65 for mailed requests (ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse)
    • $8.65 for electronic requests (ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse)

  • The Registrar's Office does not issue unofficial transcripts. Unofficial transcripts are only available via your MyMoreheadState account. To access your unofficial transcript:
    1. Log into my.moreheadstate.edu.
    2. Select “Self-Service Link"
    3. Click the "Academics" icon in the left navigation (represented by a mortarboard).
    4. Select "Unofficial Transcript."
    5. Download the appropriate transcript.
  • An unofficial transcript does not replace the official signed and sealed transcript provided by the Registrar. If you aren't sure which type of transcript is required, check with the person(s) requesting it.
  • Former students and alumni: If you have not attended Morehead State University for three consecutive semesters, your MyMoreheadState account will no longer be active, and you will not be able to access your unofficial transcript.

  • You can order your transcript securely 24/7 through the National Student Clearinghouse. You can have your transcript sent electronically, mailed, or held for pick-up in our office. Electronic transcripts are $8.65 per copy; mailed and hold for pick-up transcripts are $7.65 per copy.
  • You have the ability to send your transcript to any recipient of your choice, including other colleges or universities, professional organizations, employers, or yourself.
  • Normal processing time is as few as 20 minutes for electronic transcripts and 48 business hours for all mailed and hold pick-up transcript requests. Processing time may be longer during peak times.
  • You can attach up to two additional document(s) to be sent along with your official transcript.
  • Order updates will be emailed to you. You may also track your order here using your order number.
  • Current students - You can order your transcript faster from your MyMoreheadState account. Instructions for ordering via MyMoreheadState
  • Alumni and former students - Please note there is a field for both your MSU student ID number and social security number during the ordering process. However, only one is required to complete the order. If you are unsure of your exact dates of attendance, simply estimate. We always send your complete record.

Transcripts for students who attended prior to 1985 cannot be sent electronically and may only be mailed or picked up in our office at this time.

  • Transcripts cannot be sent electronically from mailed in requests. For electronic requests, please use the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Transcript fees are $7 per copy.

  • Complete a transcript request form in the Registrar’s office, 201 Ginger Hall.
  • Payment is due at the time of the request. Payments are to be made in the Office of Accounting & Financial Services in 207 Howell-McDowell. Cash or check only.
  • Transcripts cannot be sent electronically from in person requests. Please submit electronic requests online through the MyMoreheadState portal or the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • You must have a photo ID to pick up a transcript.
  • Transcript fees are $7 per copy for mailed requests. On-demand transcript processing is available for $15 per copy

  • Transcripts prior to 1985 cannot be sent electronically and may only be mailed or picked up in our office at this time.
  • Archived transcript requests can be submitted online via National Student Clearinghouse, in-person, or with a mailed request. Please see the appropriate tab for more information on each ordering option.
  • Processing time may be longer than the normal 48 business hours for archived records.

Transcripts FAQ

Although there is a field for both your MSU student ID number and social security number during the ordering process, only one is required to complete the order. If you are unsure of your exact dates of attendance, simply estimate. We always send your complete record, including all undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts.

Please see “How to request an official transcript?” above. Your transcript ordering process is the same even if you only took classes with us while in high school.

At this time we only have the capability to mail transcripts for those students who attended Morehead State University prior to 1985.

Yes! When placing your order online, there is an option to attach up to two additional documents that will be sent along with your official transcript. The additional document(s) can be sent along with either electronic or mailed transcripts.
