College Readiness
At Morehead State, we offer courses to help you in academic areas where you are having difficulty through the College Readiness program.
If you failed to meet the required college entrance exam benchmarks in English, mathematics or reading, you will be required to take enhanced courses in those subjects to improve your skills and ensure success. Our programs and academic support provide students the best opportunity to learn mathematics, reading and writing skills they need.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
If you are a high school senior who has already taken a placement test, work with your school counselor to ensure that the MSU Testing Center has received your most recent scores. These scores will determine your ability to register for classes at Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR).
PLACEMENT TESTING
If you are an incoming student whose ACT subtest scores fall below state college readiness standards (see the table below), you must take a placement test in those areas. The placement test will determine which college readiness courses you will need to take. Contact your advisor for additional information.
