EAP Eligibility Requirements

 

In order to apply for the EAP program, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • ACT composite score of 28 or higher or SAT equivalent.
  • Complete two semesters of major coursework in the biological sciences with laboratories.
  • Complete three semesters of major coursework in chemistry, including organic chemistry OR biochemistry with laboratories.
  • Complete two semesters of college English and/or communications.
  • Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher in both science coursework and overall.
  • Exemplify the dedication, compassion, and personal and professional bearing necessary to become a competent and caring physician.
  • Indicate a clear interest in establishing a medical practice in a rural Kentucky community.

Eligibility Requirements for Direct Admission to the UK College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program

In order to be eligible for direct admission to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program, you must meet the following requirements for assured admission:

  • Fulfill the prerequisite course requirements to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
  • Maintain a collegiate GPA of 3.5 or higher in both science coursework and in cumulative GPA at Morehead State University.
  • Record an MCAT total score at the 65th percentile or higher, with no subscale score below the 50th percentile.
  • Participate in all Early Assurance Program components.
  • Submit an AMCAS application to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program by Aug. 1, applying Early Decision to the RPLP program.
  • Obtain a supportive letter of evaluation from the MSU Pre-Medical Advisory Committee.
  • Complete a satisfactory interview for admission to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program.
