Student Employment
Student employment can be a great way to gain experience and help pay for college. The Office of Human Resources can help you apply for student jobs on campus and related processes.
The Office of Financial Aid can help you determine what types of student employment opportunities you are eligible for.
STUDENT APPLICANTS

- Go to the MSU Applicant Portal to search and apply for available positions.
Information for Supervisors
A department or office that is hiring a student employee must complete all the forms per the instructions below:
- A Personnel Action Request (PAR) must be completed in PeopleAdmin for every student employee. Please contact the Office of Human Resources (OHR) to gain access to the student position type of PARs: 783-2097 or humanresources@moreheadstate.edu.
- If the student has not previously worked for MSU under the student employment program or has not worked here in the past three years, the following forms must also be completed before the student can start working.
- A request to complete these forms will be sent directly to the email address the student provides on their application from the OHR through PeopleAdmin's TalentEd section.
- K4 Form
- W4 Form (Please consult a tax preparer or accountant for advice. As always, payroll staff cannot give tax advice regarding completing withholding forms.)
- Drug & Alcohol-Free Statement
- Confidentiality Statement
- The I9 form must be completed in person by the student at the OHR in the Howell-McDowell Administration Building, room 301.
- Please review the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services list of acceptable documents that must be brought to the OHR.
- A request to complete these forms will be sent directly to the email address the student provides on their application from the OHR through PeopleAdmin's TalentEd section.
Evaluation
- Student Evaluation of the Work Placement (not mandatory) - This is not mandatory but may be used by the hiring supervisor to gain information to improve the work experience for future students.
- Department Evaluation of the Student - This is not mandatory but may be used by the hiring supervisor to provide the student with feedback to aid their professional growth and development.
