RISE

The Rural Internship Stem Experiences (RISE) Program is open to 11th and 12th-grade students who are planning to attend Morehead State University to pursue a 4-year degree, as well as post-secondary students currently enrolled at Morehead State University. We seek to provide support to students in rural areas as they pursue high-skill, high-wage, in-demand occupations in the region.

To qualify for participation, students must meet the low-income guidelines set forth by the TRIO programs or be first-generation college students. 

All participants will have access to ACT prep materials, assistance completing their FASFA, career exploration mapping, information regarding summer learning opportunities, and online industry certification resources.

RISING EAGLES FOCUS AREAS

11th graders will take part in career fairs, job shadowing, campus visits, learning about available scholarships, and focus on ACT prep.

12th graders will continue to build on those experiences and focus on completing the FASFA, scholarship tracking, resume building, and interview skills.

Postsecondary students who are planning on a career in a high-skill, high-wage, high-demand field will receive support by taking part in internship opportunities, as well, as on campus mentorship and guidance as they complete Level-UP coursework to gain distinctions in oral communication, written communication, professionalism, critical thinking, and teamwork.
