Equestrian Team

Students passionate about horses and riding are welcome to join Morehead State's equestrian team. MSU's intercollegiate equestrian team fields Hunt Seat, Western, and Ranch Horse teams. The Hunt Seat and Western teams compete within the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The IHSA is a catch-ride organization, meaning riders can compete through a random draw format with the benefit of not having to own a horse. The Ranch Horse team competes against the public and other collegiate teams through local ranch and stock horse associations. They compete on their own horse or may be able to lease an MSU horse to use.

The equestrian team offers showing opportunities for all levels of riders, from brand-new beginners to open-level riders. MSU's equestrian team welcomes students from all areas of study. All the teams are part of the Equestrian Club and are open to anyone interested in the program, regardless of experience. All the teams and club members work as a single entity, creating a great environment in which to learn and enjoy the equine industry.
