Service Learning
Through service learning and engagement, students gain educational experiences that meet the goals of their academic courses, strengthen community assets and address community needs.
Students involved with service learning can reflect on their experiences to gain a deeper understanding of course content and a broader appreciation of the discipline, improving critical thinking skills and an enhanced sense of values and civic responsibility.
Participating faculty promotes active learning, engages students with different learning styles, add new insights to class discussion, increases public awareness of key issues and helps prepare today's students to be tomorrow's civic leaders.
Get involved
Service learning engages students in hands-on experiences through community service while they learn essential life and career skills. Students apply classroom knowledge to their communities to make an impact in the lives of others.
