Professional Development

We offer many professional development opportunities to MSU faculty and staff throughout the year. Below are just a few of the technologies we offer PD sessions.

BLACKBOARD™ 9.1, GRADE CENTER™ & COLLABORATE™

Blackboard is the technology solution MSU uses for online classes, discussion boards, grading and more. Our Introduction to Blackboard 9.1 professional development session will ensure that you have a better understanding of this technology to utilize in your classes better.

QUALITY MATTERS™

This session is the first step in becoming a reviewer of courses for the Quality Matters™ recognition of online and hybrid courses. It is also one of three requirements for MSU's pilot program of Online Teaching Certification. This session may also be of interest as a "behind the scenes" look for those who wish to have their course(s) reviewed by QM. In the seminars, you will learn the underlying principles of Quality Matters™, how to use the QM Rubric and the scoring system, and practice applying the rubric to an online course. Because this is for national certification, you must attend the entire two-part workshop if you are interested in becoming a Peer Reviewer. We are not able to "excuse" partial absences. Soon, this professional development opportunity will be available in a four-week online format.

RESPONDUS® 4.0

Respondus® is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard.
