APPLYING FOR GRADUATION
ELIGIBILITY: Students completing degree requirements in the fall or winter are eligible to participate in the December ceremony of the graduation year. Students completing degree requirements in the spring or summer are eligible to participate in the May ceremony of the graduation year. Graduates who elect not to participate in their respective ceremonies will not be eligible to walk in a future ceremony unless they earn a new degree.
HOW TO APPLY: All undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students are required to apply for graduation online through their Self-Service portal by clicking on Graduation Overview.
Undergraduate students who plan to receive two bachelor’s degrees simultaneously must submit an application and pay the application fee for each degree. This will ensure that the student receives two printed diplomas.
If the student does not see two links (see example above), please email graduation@moreheadstate.edu or call 606-783-5244 before submitting your application so that your program can be updated to reflect the double degree.
Applications without payment are incomplete and will not be processed. If your payment is unsuccessful, you will receive a notification. Please check your MSU email regularly for follow-up emails.
Graduate students seeking non-degree completion (e.g., graduate certifications, etc.) should complete and submit the following form: Non-degree completion.
GRADUATION APPLICATION FEES: The non-refundable application fee for all undergraduate and graduate students is $45. This includes undergraduate certificates. After the deadline, the fee will increase to $55. The graduation fee partially offsets the production and mailing of diplomas, as well as the cost of commencement.
