University Honors

Undergraduate students who meet the following requirements will be awarded Latin Honors. Honors will be printed on the student's diploma, as well as their official transcript. Master's, Ed.S., and Ed.D. students are not awarded these honors.

Students earning Latin Honors wear a gold cord at commencement. Honors recognized during the commencement ceremony do not include the final semester's coursework and are therefore unofficial. Official University Honors are featured on the diploma and the official transcript will include the final semester's grades.

Students will receive information via their MSU email address about when and where to pick up their honor cord at no cost to them.

Honor cords are only distributed to those students participating in the ceremony. If a student is not participating in the ceremony and has earned honors, the appropriate honors will be noted on the student's official transcript and diploma.
