School & Community Group Shows

Reservations for schools (public, private and home-school), families and community groups may be scheduled anytime during the week when public shows are not scheduled, and the crew is available. We welcome groups of any size. 

Once a reservation is requested, we will confirm crew availability (it may take up to a week or more to confirm). Please include contact information, and we suggest you add an alternative reservation date/time just in case. We request two-weeks notice if possible. We try to accommodate all requests, but please note that the crew are undergraduate students and may not be available during MSU breaks.  

Groups can choose from our Planetarium Feature Program Library, Laser Show Library or public-domain science fiction movies. In addition to the recorded program, we include a tour of the evening sky for the date of the visit and a preview of a laser show. Many programs also have supplemental educational materials so teachers can apply what students learn at the Star Theater in the classroom.

Group Program Fees & Details

• $150 for Planetarium Show (including live night sky under the dome and feature) for groups of up to 100.
• Groups larger than 100 must be split.
• Reduced fees may be requested for groups of less than 35.
• A tour of the Space Science Center may be requested for no additional cost.
• Arrangements can be made and fees negotiated for the use of the Star Theater for special programming or group events (including private parties) as well as for hands-on science workshop activities.
• Payment may be made by cash or check only. Please make all checks payable to Morehead State University Star Theater.
