Serve KY
Serve KY administers Kentucky's AmeriCorps national service programs. The commission is a statewide, bipartisan group comprised of 25 members, appointed by the governor, with diverse service and volunteerism backgrounds. Serve KY is located within the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Last year more than 5,100 Americans of all ages and backgrounds united to meet local needs, strengthen communities, and expand opportunity through national service in Kentucky. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served at more than 800 locations across Kentucky. AmeriCorps invested more than $20.1 million in federal funding to support cost-effective community solutions, working hand in hand with local partners to empower individuals to help communities tackle their toughest challenges.
The mission of Serve KY is to engage Kentuckians in volunteerism and service to impact our communities positively. Serve KY engages citizens in community service opportunities that enable volunteers, organizations and businesses to share ideas and effectively collaborate to address Kentucky's needs.
Serve KY supports volunteerism and national service through programs such as Kentucky AmeriCorps, the annual Governor's Awards for Volunteerism and Service, a year-round volunteer recognition program, an e-newsletter and encouraging participation in national days of service.
Serve KY funding is provided by AmeriCorps and the Kentucky General Assembly.
