Scholarship Opportunities for International Students

Morehead State offers two scholarships specifically for international undergraduate students. See details below.

International graduate students are eligible for graduate assistantships—limited, competitive awards that offer financial support and experience that builds language skills, knowledge, and leadership. Graduate assistantships pay a $10,000 stipend per academic year (fall and spring semesters) or $5,000 per semester.

International Student Scholarships

Open to incoming international undergraduate freshmen or transfer students, these scholarships award $8,000 per year ($4,000 per semester). Maintain at least a 2.00 GPA for renewals.

Eligibility criteria for freshmen or transfers less than 24 credit hours:

  • An admission index score of 450 or higher
  • Minimum composite ACT score of 20 or SAT combined score of 940

Eligibility criteria for transfers with 24 credit hours or more:

  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.00 or higher

See more information about International Student Scholarships.

Honors Scholarships

Open to academically accomplished undergraduates, these competitive scholarships cover tuition, on-campus housing, a meal plan, and up to $600 per semester for books and supplies. They’re applied after other financial aid is posted (total aid may not exceed the cost of attendance).

Campus Safety

Morehead State consistently ranks among the safest college campuses in the state of Kentucky. In 2018, the National Council for Home Safety and Security named us the 18th safest college campus in the United States.

We’re committed to safety for our students. Our police department is on call 24 hours a day, and the LiveSafe mobile app and Eagle Alerts provide safety and weather updates.
