Campus Safety Information
Morehead State fosters an environment dedicated to the safety of our students. MSU is consistently ranked among the safest campuses in Kentucky. In 2018, MSU was ranked 18th in 2018 Safest College Campuses in the U.S. by the National Council for Home Safety and Security. We offer additional security through the LiveSafe mobile phone app and through Eagle Alerts, where you can receive weather and safety alerts by text message or email. MSU’s Police Department is available 24 hours a day for your safety.
Location
Our beautiful campus is located in the city of Morehead, Kentucky – a place big on small-town charm. It’s the type of place where you will quickly find familiar, friendly faces and that thrives on the bond built between students and members of the community. Morehead has shopping, coffee shops and local restaurants, as well as other local businesses, within walking distance. A short distance from campus are various shopping centers, grocery stores and popular chain restaurants that are easily accessible through public transportation. MSU is located in the Appalachian foothills in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Eagle Lake is located on campus, and our Recreation & Wellness Center offers a gym, fitness classes and Outdoor Adventures - outdoor trips, take workshops on various survival skills, rent camping and hiking equipment, or kayaks and paddle boards.
