First-Year Village
First-year students have a new opportunity to live and learn in a dedicated residential student environment - the Morehead State First-Year Village.
The First-Year Village includes East Mignon Hall, Mignon Hall, and Mignon Tower. This provides MSU's newest Eagle students with a dedicated living and learning environment to assist with the transition to college life at Morehead State.
Highlights of First-Year Village include:
- Specially trained hall staff with expertise and experience in adjustment concerns and
- Connection opportunities to help students feel at home and ready to succeed.
- Suite-style room layouts with bathroom facilities in each room.
- Specific programming and events focused on first-year student adjustment, connection, and engagement in residence halls and the campus community.
Students may select spaces in First-Year Village through the normal room selection process and match with prospective other first-year students to create roommate pairings. Complete your housing contract, and the Office of Student Housing & Residence Education will send additional instructions via the student's MSU email.

Generally, no. First-year students and upper-class students have different housing options and unique needs. With dedicated and trained staff support, the First-Year Village provides the ideal learning and living environment for Morehead State's newest residential students.
Single rooms are available for upper-class students and any student with a medical need. Students seeking medical accommodation for their room assignment are encouraged to begin that process with the Office of Disability Services as soon as possible to ensure maximum availability to meet their needs.
These halls will close when MSU closes for Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break and for the summer at the end of the Spring Semester. Students needing housing during break periods should contact the Office of Student Housing & Residence Education as soon as possible, since limited spaces exist.

While first-year students have previously lived in dedicated spaces, we are consolidating the dedicated first-year spaces into a more central and connected community for 2024-25.
