Complete classes in conservation and ecology while conducting research to learn the goals, theory, practice and history of environmental education.
What You Can Do with an environmental education endorsement
This endorsement is ideal for in-service teachers and non-formal educators. The program is appropriate for teachers from pre-K through secondary levels and middle school teachers will especially benefit from learning hands-on activities appropriate to students entering that phase of their learning ability. It can help improve your classroom instruction and set you apart in a competitive job market.
What make's morehead state's program different
The 12 credit hours of coursework meet the North American Association of Environmental Educators' "Guidelines for the Initial Preparation of Environmental Educators Standards."
Admission to the environmental education endorsement program
- General admission to graduate study (for criteria, refer to "Admission to Graduate Study").
- Standard or provisional teaching certification or a statement of eligibility for teaching. Those students seeking to develop expertise in the area of environmental education will be able to take courses, but it cannot be used for initial teacher certification.
- A minimum of 2.75 undergraduate GPA.
- Interview by faculty and/or professional staff associated with the Environmental Education Center.
