What You’ll Learn in pre-Engineering

MSU’s pre-engineering program offers several options to start your studies at MSU and finish at an accredited engineering school. Depending on which option you choose, you can earn a bachelor’s degree from MSU or dual degrees from MSU and an accredited engineering school.

What You Can Do with a pre-Engineering Degree

Our program allows you to prepare for engineering school by completing a portion of your studies at MSU before transferring to an accredited engineering school.

Attend MSU for two years, take the required general education, chemistry, math, physics and engineering courses, then transfer to an accredited institution for two years to obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Attend MSU for three years, take the required general education, chemistry, math, physics and engineering courses, then transfer to an accredited institution for two years to obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering from the transfer institution and a bachelor's degree in physics from MSU.

Admission to pre-Engineering

You must be admitted to MSU.
