Common Questions About Fees
Facility fees pay repair expenditures for facilities that support the university’s instructional mission. All students—undergraduate, graduate, full time, part time, and online students—pay $5 per credit hour with a maximum charge of $60 a semester.
The university must maintain physical facilities to offer both online and face-to-face classes
No, this fee was previously included in tuition rates, but is now charged separately to be more transparent. All students—undergraduate, graduate, full time, part time, and online students—pay $9 per credit hour with a maximum charge of $100 a semester.
This is a mandatory fee for all students. Several years ago, MSU students voted and received Board of Regents approval to implement a $100 per semester mandatory fee to pay for construction of a new Recreation and Wellness Center. These fees pay the annual debt service payment for the facility. The Recreation and Wellness Center was completed in 2011, and students will pay the fee until debt service for the facility is paid in full.
No, tuition waivers are only for tuition charges on your student bill.
These fees off set additional costs incurred to provide online instruction, including software and other technology expenditures.
Our credit card processing company charges MSU processing fees for accepting and processing payments from debit and credit cards. To help cover these costs, MSU charges a 2.85% service fee to accept debit and credit cards.
No, there is no fee to make a payment on your account using an electronic check. You will need your bank routing number and your checking account number to pay with an electronic check.
