COVER DESIGN Requirements
By submitting an entry to Inscape, you are granting Morehead State University permission to publish your work in the journal, on our website and in Inscape and/or Department of Communication, Media, Art & Design and Department of English and Modern Languages promotional or publicity materials. Furthermore, submissions must be solely the works of the artist and/or designer. Reproductions or alterations of another designer's or artist's works are not permitted.

Complete this form to submit your cover design to the jury selection.
Guidelines
You may submit up to three entries for the Inscape Cover Design contest. In addition to submitting the online form below, you must follow these submission guidelines:
- Only currently enrolled MSU students can submit a cover design for Inscape.
- Submissions must be solely the work of the designer. Reproductions or alterations of other designers and/or artists' works are prohibited.
- Images should be 11" W x 8.5" H and .34" for the spine (plus .5 " bleed). Submissions should include the front and back covers and the spine and MUST include the Inscape logo.
- Make sure to allow at least .5 inch bleed around the design
- Image resolution should be at least 600 dpi
- The design may use any number of colors plus black
- Designs created in a vector-based program (Adobe Illustrator) must outline all fonts before saving files
- Upload your digital cover design file(s) below, please keep in mind that large files will take a while to upload.
- Acceptable file formats include: .zip, .indd, .jpg, .ai, .eps, .psd, .tif, .pdf

- Download the Inscape Cover InDesign template to ensure that your file meets the requirements (.indd).
PRIZES
A $100 prize is awarded to the selected cover designer. Winners are announced at the Inscape Fine Arts Showcase reception on April 23, 2025, at 6 p.m. in 111 Claypool-Young.
- Full-time MSU employees (non-student) are not eligible for prizes.

Additional Requirements
You will be required to include a short biography in your submission form. If you are a student, you may include your major at MSU, a brief description of your current artistic projects and any awards you may have won for your work. The staff of Inscape reserves the right to edit or condense biographies submitted.
Sample Bio:
Jane Smith is an art major at Morehead State University, whose work is generally surreal- focusing on a combination of ideas in alchemy, psychology, and geology and how they speak about society as a whole and each of us as individuals. Smith displayed work in the 2016 and 2017 Juried Student Art Exhibits at the Gateway Regional Art Center and had work published in the 2017 issue of Inscape. In 2018, she received an Honorable Mention award in the Senior Exhibition at Morehead State University.
