Fees & Insurance
All students are required to pay a student health services fee as stipulated by the University. This fee entitles students to the basic services provided by MSU Counseling and Health Services (for further details, see the Undergraduate Catalog and the Eagle Student Handbook).
PROGRAM FEES & EXPENSES
There are fees and expenses specific to the program that is in addition to those required by the University. These are subject to change without prior notification. They include the following:
- Dark grey uniforms
- White or black clinical shoes
- Dark grey lab coat
- Malpractice insurance
- Identification name badge
- Criminal background checks
- Drug testing
- Certification examinations
- Applicable course fees
In addition, all students are individually responsible for obtaining adequate health insurance or paying any medical treatment bills while on campus or at an assigned clinical education center. Students wishing to purchase health insurance through the University may contact the Office of Student Affairs.
Liability Insurance
To protect the students and the clinical education providers, all students are required to carry individual professional liability insurance while enrolled in the program. The University's liability coverage is provided by a group policy written for the program by Mercer Consumer, a service of Mercer Health & Benefits Administration LLC.
Liability insurance purchased through MSU has an annual cost of $19. It provides up to $1,000,000 coverage per individual insured or for each medical incident that occurs while students are participating in activities that are part of, and a requirement of, the student's curriculum.
Identification Badge
You must purchase identification name badges to be worn on your uniform while attending a clinical internship. The badges are purchased through the University for $5 each.
