WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THE BACHELOR OF MUSIC PROGRAM 

Our Bachelor of Music program is designed specifically for students who want to become professional musicians and performers. Through intensive, one-on-one instruction, you’ll become a master of your instrument. Classes in music theory, music reading and composition ensure you’ll have a well-rounded knowledge of the many facets of making music.

You’ll be ready to work as a professional musician and performer in bands and ensembles, as a soloist or as a studio session musician.

Morehead State University's Music program is accredited through the National Association of Schools of Music.

The Bachelor of Music in Performance at Morehead State University provides stakeholders (students) with performance-focused training in solo and ensemble playing/singing, analysis, and musicology as required by the national accreditation agency (NASM), within a liberal arts curriculum, educating students for success in a global environment. Graduates of this program go on to perform, teach, and promote music all over the region and world.

The Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies provides students (stakeholders) training in jazz performance along with analytical, historical, and theoretical skills in music. The degree educates students for success in a global environment and fosters innovation, collaboration and creative thinking.
