MSU FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Many students are selected to receive MSU Foundation scholarship awards by committees from departments and colleges, while others are selected by staff from the Office of Financial Aid and the MSU Foundation. Students are encouraged to apply for MSU Foundation scholarships each year, as their eligibility may vary based on their academic classification. Additionally, new scholarships are added each year thanks to the generosity of our donors.

The application for Foundation scholarships opens on January 1 each year for the upcoming academic school year beginning in August. Students are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of March 15. However, application deadlines vary by scholarship. The final date to apply is June 15.

UPDATE: The MSU Foundation priority scholarship application deadline for first-year students has been extended to April 1, 2024.

After You Apply

It takes several weeks for scholarship reviewers to evaluate all of the applications. All applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have received a scholarship.

Foundation scholarships require students to submit a letter of appreciation. Scholarship funds will not be applied to student financial aid accounts until the letter of appreciation is received. The recipient will receive an email outlining the letter of appreciation submission process. The MSU Foundation will share the letter of appreciation with the scholarship donor.
