What You'll Learn in the middle grades education program
You'll learn teaching techniques and pedagogy that will prepare you to teach middle-school-aged children. You'll gain not only classroom instruction but hands-on experience through required student teaching. Students complete 200 hours of field experience before their final student-teaching semester begins.
Note: Students interested in 5-9 certification must select two academic components from English, science, social studies and mathematics, or students may choose coursework for a single component in science.
