What You’ll Learn in early childhood education
Learn about child development and effective intervention with young children, building relationships and collaborating with families and community agencies. Design educational programs for P-K children that follow state regulations and examine legislation and public policy that relates to children and families.
What You Can Do with an early childhood education Degree
You’ll be equipped with the knowledge, hands-on skills and professional certification to be an educator for children from birth through age 5 in public and private schools and childcare facilities.
Admission to early childhood education
The first step is admission to Morehead State University.
In addition to meeting the general requirements for admission to the University, students seeking teacher certification must apply for and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP). Additionally, to enroll in the clinical practice and meet state certification requirements, students must maintain a GPA of 2.75 overall (in all course work), as well as in professional education courses, with no grade lower than a "C" in professional education courses.
